Our Office

I focus my work specifically on residential real estate in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County so I can offer clients rich, street-level knowledge in this niche. I want my clients to know that I don't think of myself as a salesperson; I'm a guidance counselor for real estate challenges and opportunities!

I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay, but arrived here in 1989 as a freshman at James Madison University. Ever since then, it has been home for me! (even when I moved away briefly a couple of times) My wife and bought our first home in 2002, and I loved the process so much, it dawned on me that it might be a good career for me! The next year I got my license, and have been full-time and "all in" ever since. I have two (mostly) grown-up sons, and an adorable Schnoodle (schnauzer + poodle). We live in Belmont, just west of the city, where we enjoy sunsets and glorious mountain views.

Brant is a Shenandoah Valley native, JMU graduate (1997), and plans to be a Harrisonburg-area townie for the rest of his life. He started his real estate career in 2006 with the simple goal of helping clients buy and sell real estate in a professional, yet fun, manner. He has been blessed that many of his "customers" have become lifelong friends. Brant is a former President of the Harrisonburg Rockingham Association of Realtors and the Harrisonburg Massanutten Rotary Club. He married his wife Jeannette in 1999, and they have a daughter (Meredith). Brant is passionate about sports and is a season-ticket holder to his favorite professional and JMU sports teams - Go Dukes!

Matt has made his home in the Harrisonburg area since 1992 and is a double-Duke ('96 BS, '02 MBA). With nearly 20 years of hospitality experience and over a dozen years in finance and sales roles prior to becoming a Realtor in 2016, Matt brings a unique perspective on professionally servicing his client's needs and goals. Matt is a self-proclaimed "numbers guy" and enjoys looking into the detailed analysis of the local market and individual transactions. Matt’s preparation and guidance consistently result in glowing client reviews, frequently citing Matt as ‘knowledgeable, responsive, and personable.” Outside of the office, you may find Matt tailgating for the Dukes, gardening-hiking-fishing with his family, or sneaking in a round of golf (once the lawn is mowed, of course).
As a lifelong resident of the Shenandoah Valley, Katie has a great knowledge and love for Harrisonburg and the surrounding counties. With a background in mortgage, management and sales, she is able to combine her skillsets to provide exceptional customer service. In addition to serving clients, Katie is a mom to three kiddos and two fur babies. Her family is always up for finding new adventures, trails and activities in the Valley. When Katie is not busy assisting buyers and sellers you might find her in the kitchen baking and will most definitely find her at a JMU sporting event cheering on the Dukes!
A few of Anna's favorite things are Bella Luna's arugula and prosciutto pizza, folk rock and bluegrass concerts, and first-time home buyers. Anna is well-versed in the Downtown Harrisonburg market and has experience with historic homes as well. Whether she's working with a repeat seller or a new buyer, Anna understands the importance of prompt communication and mitigating the stressful aspects of real estate. These values stem from her years of experience in hospitality! Anna loves being a Realtor. She says it's a great career for a working mom. Her three kids range in age from 3 to 13, and her oldest plays soccer. She loves watching games, but she has scheduled a showing on the sidelines before! When Anna does have time to go out on the town with her husband, Jesse, you can find her at Billy Jack's for some Sticky Nuggs or at Pale Fire kicking back a Salad Days.
My name's Jay Michael Harnish, though most people know me as Michael. Having spent my entire adult life in the Shenandoah Valley, I have a deep-rooted connection to this beautiful region. A few years ago, my wife and I traded city life in Harrisonburg for the charm of Singers Glen, where we now enjoy life on a farmette, raising our two wonderful kids.

My journey into real estate was driven by a genuine passion for helping others find their perfect home. I understand that choosing a house is more than just a transaction—it’s a life-changing decision that most people make only a few times in their lives. With my experience renovating my own 1800s farmhouse and working alongside contractors to build new homes, I'm comfortable helping a buyer understand the ins and outs of a house whether it's two or two hundred years old. This enthusiasm fuels my commitment to guiding clients through every step of their real estate journey.

In addition to my work in real estate, I have too many hobbies and far too little spare time! I enjoy playing guitar, making wood projects, renovating my home, gardening, raising animals, and enjoying time with my family.

If you’re looking for a Realtor who combines local expertise with a true passion for connecting people with homes they love, let’s connect. I’m here to make your real estate experience as seamless and rewarding as possible.
  1. No matter what your situation, I will listen to your needs, customize a plan to accomplish your real estate goals and treat you like family! Every situation is different and buying or selling a home can be both exciting and stressful. I am dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a smooth transaction from start to close. I especially love helping first time home buyers and folks who are relocating to the area - I know you are going to love it here! In my free time you can find me at my kids sports activities with my husband Mike, gardening, reading or decluttering/organizing something!
Since arriving as a student at James Madison University in 2015, I have loved the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the vibrant Harrisonburg community. When Shannon (my wife) and I graduated, we both knew that the valley was our home. While I enjoyed teaching in local schools, I wanted to bring more people to the Shenandoah Valley. My goal is to educate and advocate for all clients to give them the best home buying/selling experiences possible! Shannon and I enjoy trying new foods, weekend getaways, and watching live sports.
I moved to the Shenandoah Valley from southwest Virginia in 1990 when I married my husband, Jeff. After a long career, nearly 30 years, in the finance industry with almost 21 years of that as a financial advisor I spent a lot of time thinking about what my next move should be. The pieces started to fall into place when I considered becoming a realtor. Relationships are important to me and the ability to work with clients forging connections and ultimately friendships comes naturally and that along with my love of interior design and space planning lends itself well to working with people during the transitions required to sell or buy a home. I started my career as a realtor in 2020, during what many would say was one of the most challenging times in our industry and the past 4 1/2 years have been very rewarding. Experience garnered throughout the years in finance and real estate, as well as, my innate desire to problem solve, allows me to assist you as we navigate this process successfully, the goal being to provide you with exemplary service to obtain YOUR best possible outcome.

I have lived in the Shenandoah Valley my entire life. I am married and have 2 children. I love animals. I love to travel. I received my bachelor's degree from JMU. I grew up working in construction (my parents owned a construction company), which started my love of real estate a very young age. House shopping and selling can be very stressful, I try to make it as fun and easy as possible.
We all need a coach in our corner! As a real estate agent, I get to be my clients' personal coach. I’m here to empower them every step of the way, providing the encouragement, guidance, and expert support they need to achieve their goals of buying or selling a home.

Prior to calling Harrisonburg home, I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. Growing up, I worked for my dad's landscape and general contracting business, where I learned the ropes of hard work and creativity from a young age. Life’s adventures eventually took me to Indiana, where I graduated college and met my amazing wife, Emily. We landed in Harrisonburg in 2015, and we quickly fell in love with the vibrant, friendly community of the valley. Together, we are raising five wonderful kids in the beloved Maplehurst neighborhood.

With over 8 years of experience in real estate and project management, I’ve developed a genuine passion for transforming spaces into something special. I've even taken on the challenge of renovating three of our own homes! When I'm not managing projects or helping clients find their perfect space, you can find me running, savoring a great cup of coffee, passionately cheering for any Philadelphia sports team, or tackling another exciting house project.

I joined Nest Realty because I’ve experienced the journey as both a buyer and seller, and I know just how thrilling—and sometimes nerve-wracking—that process can be. I truly believe that the spaces we live in are formative in who we are and who we become, and I'm thrilled to be a part of helping others find a place they love to call home.
Kim hails from Staunton, Virginia. She ventured to NYC to study theatre before settling back in the Valley to complete her Master’s degree from Mary Baldwin University. Since 2021, she and her family have made Harrisonburg their home. Kim joined Nest following a career as a teacher and manager for multiple arts and culture organizations, including the American Shakespeare Center and WQSV. Kim’s background as a nonprofit leader and educator translates especially well to a career in real estate, where Kim uses her extensive communication and marketing skills. When she’s not helping Nest clients, Kim is a children’s book author, serves as fundraising manager for Adagio House, and contributes to the local theatre scene as an ensemble member of Eunoia Theatre Company.
Having spent over 15 years in the Shenandoah Valley, my family and I have come to truly appreciate everything this beautiful area has to offer. After graduating from JMU with an accounting degree, I spent a few years working in public accounting and municipal roles. But it wasn’t until I joined our family’s residential construction business that I found my real passion.

As a co-owner of a company that builds high-end spec homes, I've gained hands-on experience in everything from design decisions to the nitty-gritty paperwork. This journey has given me a deep understanding of home construction and the business side of things, which I’m excited to share with you.

Now, as I transition into real estate, my goal is simple: to help families find homes they love, and assist sellers in getting the best value for their property. Whether you're buying your first home, your forever home, or selling to move on to the next chapter, I’m here to make the process smoother and more enjoyable. I’ll bring my knowledge, passion, and thoughtful approach to every step, ensuring that your real estate experience is seamless and successful. Let’s make your dream home—or your next sale—a reality!
Real estate has been my career for over 23 years, but it wasn't the career I initially set out to pursue. My dad, a builder, was the one who initially suggested I get involved in the real estate side of things. He needed someone to represent him, and though I was hesitant at first, I decided to take a step of faith. I’m so grateful he gave me that nudge, as what started as a way to help him has turned into a career I’m deeply passionate about. It’s been a journey of joy, fulfillment, and the opportunity to help countless wonderful people along the way.

For me, real estate is about more than just buying and selling homes—it’s about understanding people’s goals, offering guidance through one of life’s biggest decisions, and building long-term relationships rooted in trust and integrity. Whether I'm working with first-time buyers or helping someone sell a home that’s been in their family for generations, my focus is always on what’s best for my clients. I approach every situation with care, honesty, and a commitment to achieving the best possible outcome.

I believe in the value of continuous learning, which is why I make it a priority to stay informed about market trends and best practices. This helps me provide clients with relevant insights, so they can feel confident and well-informed as they navigate the process.

If you’re looking for a Realtor who genuinely cares about your goals, takes the time to understand your needs, and will guide you through the buying or selling process with patience and honesty, I’d love the opportunity to work with you. I’d love to help make this experience as seamless and enjoyable as possible for you.
With extensive expertise in local markets and a background in construction, I serve my clients as a trusted advisor through every step of buying and selling. My personal knowledge of the process ensures you make informed, confident decisions every step of the way. Let's turn your dream home into reality!
I grew up in Rappahannock County, VA and later built my own home in Culpeper, VA, alongside incredible family tradesmen. In 2022, we made a decision to relocate to the Shenandoah Valley. This decision was made much easier since the valley had already served as an extension of home my entire life. This region is more than just where I work; it is where I have built a lifetime of memories, giving me a deep connection to its communities and a true understanding of the local real estate market.

With a background in construction and personal experience buying and selling homes, I understand how exciting and sometimes overwhelming the real estate process can be. That is why I am here, to guide you every step of the way with honest advice, local expertise, and a commitment to making your experience as smooth as possible.

My construction knowledge helps me recognize potential issues or hidden value in a home, while my familiarity with the area allows me to provide insights on everything from market trends to neighborhood charm. Whether you are buying or selling, my goal is to help you navigate the process with confidence and ease.

Let’s work together to find the perfect home or the right buyer in the communities I know and love.
