The Seller's Scoop

View: We love looking out the back windows to see the wildlife, especially the deer.

Room: The family room with the fireplace is warm and comfortable room.  It is close enough to the kitchen and table to include the whole family when we all gather.

Tree: We have so many trees in our yard it's hard to pick just one.  The maple in center of the front fenced yard is a favorite, as well the Yoshino Cherry closer to the front of the property, where our kids used to climb.

Walk: Late afternoon / early evening are great times to walk the property, frequently lots of deer and rabbits run out of the pine trees the back.  Neighbors walk on the streets in the morning and early evening, and we have enjoyed bike riding as well.

Hike or Beach: Cacapon State Park and the Appalachian Trail offer hiking within an hour drive, and there are great walking / running trails at the Museum of the Shenendoah Valley about 15 minutes away.

Breakfast: Backseat Bar & Grill is a favorite breakfast spot.

Lunch: Donato's Touch of Italy in Sunnyside is great for lunch or dinner.

Dinner: 50/50 TapHouse is a great place for burgers and wide variety of beers.  Vibrissa Beer has a good restaurant and local beer.

Pub/Wine Bar: 50/50 TapHouse.  The Cider House is opening in a new location in Old Town Winchester.  They are a local producer of ciders.

Living in our home has been....
This has a been a great home and a great neighborhood to raise our four children.  We look back at photos of when we moved in - a house sitting in a large hay field.  Now with all the trees we have planted over the years it is hard to believe it is the same place.  When our kids were first riding bikes, we let the grass grow in the back and cut riding paths through it.  Now about half that space is filled in with trees we planted.  The fenced yard in the back had a swing set and kids playhouse in a huge sand box.  Later the swings were removed and a small animal shed added beside the playhouse, to make a place for goats and chickens.  We laugh about the stories our kids tell us of the games of hide and seek, when some would be hiding up in the trees, and others in the back hedge row with the poison ivy surrounding them.  We've had many campfires and cookouts in the small firepit out back.
